Course Format

Designed to offer you as much flexibility as you need, our courses are based entirely on distance learning so that you can fit your studies around your own individual and personal lifestyle. Spread over 30 extensive Units, each topic is both examined in depth and clearly explained in lay-mans terms. At the end of each unit there are one or two questions and a short assignment to complete. Should you find that you require assistance from your Tutor at any stage, he or she is always available to promptly answer your questions and deal with your enquiries.

The courses are delivered to you in Adobe .pdf format via email and the files are yours to keep. This format provides us with the unique ability to update, develop, revise and refine the courses on a regular basis. It also enables us to provide students with a lifetime of free, unlimited upgrades - there have been 4 major upgrades since April 2008, with yet another planned for the end of 2013! For your convenience and our swift processing your work is expected to be completed submitted for review via email.

On completion of the course you will be awarded a Certification in Advanced Wedding Planning, Design & Management. You will receive 2 certificates: one for your office and one for your website.

Course Length

Althought the Standard Course is designed to be completed within 6 months, each student´s individual circumstances differ. Approximately 30% of students take up to a year and 20% of students take up to 18 months. Most students hold down permanent jobs and study in their free time.

Do you need to complete the course quickly? If so, there is now a LITE VERSION available. It´s exactly the same course, only with less coursework so it´s much quicker to complete. And you can swap at any stage. Naturally, if you are not in a rush to finish, you are advised to do the Standard Version.

Why the £50.00 Cash Back Incentive?

Our aim is to get students through the course and out into business as quickly as possible. Having students progressing slowly through the standard course, a year or more after enrolling, can cause a variety of administrative as well as potential financial issues for us to deal with. Students that do not finish the course in 26 weeks (and therefore do not benefit from the cash back cheque) partially subsidise the course for students that complete it in this time frame.

Why do we Offer Wedding Planning Courses and Train our Competitors?

Other than the fact it´s a natural progression for established businesses in any industry to offer training courses - it´s also down to the basic principles of supply and demand. In the years before we designed our first wedding planner course back in 2007, we were inundated with enquiries from people wanting to know the best and/or easiest route into wedding planning. Most had no experience so we simply advised them to undertake a course that was run by a competitor at the time. If the truth be known, we thought they were mad teaching potential competitors how to plan weddings.

However, we soon realised that there were lots of people determined to break into the industry. And if these people wanted to do a wedding planning course, they might as well do ours! Pure and simple business sense.

Work Placements

With regard to work placements, we try to get students involved as much as possible with our brides. This will be through our free Student Venue Search service or our Bride on a Budget scheme, where we match a student with a bride requiring student assistance with her wedding (from Full Coordination to On The Day coordination, sourcing venues and suppliers, design and styling, advice on trends etc). Alternatively, opportunities arise for students to assist a Consultant onsite at a client´s wedding.

Some Impartial Advice Before Choosing A Wedding Planner Course

Our students often state that they select our course because it covers the widest range of topics in the most detail. When choosing a course start by comparing contents and structure. Next, find out how up-to-date the course is. Some are 3 or more years out of date - that´s a long time in the wedding industry.

Then decide which format to opt for - class room or home study? Classroom based wedding planning courses are certainly beneficial for some students but it is a fact that home study courses cover a wider variety of topics in greater depth. They do after all, take longer to complete.

We also suggest you ask about the tutors: Are they full time tutors? If so, why have they stopped planning weddings? Our tutors are Full Coordination wedding planners - they tutor instead of work with partial coordination clients, conduct venue/supplier searches or work with OTD clients.

Finally, ask the provider whether the course was written for the American or the UK market. Most distance learning wedding planner courses were written for the American or Australian markets and imported here to be resold.
