Showcasing – Heart Invites

Brides and grooms often underestimate the role of the wedding stationer. Yet it’s the stationery – save the date or the actual invitation  – that first sets the scene of the wedding for the majority of the guests. The stationery not only has to befit the style of the wedding but it’s got to be perfect! I’ll waste no time then in introducing the exceptionally talented Lauren from Heart Invites in Kent. Over to Lauren…

“Paper pretties & creative design is my passion. More specifically, design for life’s most beautiful moments. Ever since I designed stationery for my own wedding 7 years ago I fell in love with wedding stationery design and the joy that comes with working with excited couples about to embark on one of life’s most magical journeys!”

Heart Invites: Succulent

“I love to create lasting memories of those moments through my ‘heart’ felt stationery that can be kept forever as a cherished keep-sake.”

“I work from my little seaside studio at my home in Deal, Kent, spending each day designing pretty things for wonderful people. With 10 years experience within the design industry and several industry awards under my belt, I know I am doing exactly what I was made for & I just love it!”

“I have been very fortunate in my job to have worked with hundred’s of Bride & Grooms, and revel in the joy of designing for weddings & life’s other greatest milestones.”

“Whilst I specialise in wedding design, I also design for new babies, christenings, anniversaries, birthdays, baby showers & more! Anything from save the dates & invites, to table plans & baby prints. I design with ‘heart’ (hence the name!) using a mixture of digital & paint skills to create unique & original work.”

Tree Hugging Hippies or Wedding Stationery Geniuses?

For 500 years, letterpress printing was the most popular method for printing text onto paper – right up until the early 20th Century.

Bella Figura – Gournay

It’s a simple process – ink is applied to the surface of raised metal type and the type is then pressed against paper to make an impression. The finished article has a beautifully tactile quality, with a layer of ink and an indentation where the type pressed against the paper.

Today there is a major revival in the art of old fashioned letterpress printing. And at the forefront of this revival are our friends at Bella Figura, New York.

All their printing is done using antique cast-iron presses, 100% tree-free cotton paper from a 500 year old paper mill, vegetable-oil based and low-Volatile Organic Compound (VOC) inks and low-VOC and citrus-based solvents.

But that’s not all… they are wind-powered, carbon neutral and as eco-friendly as you can be. Plus they donate 1% of sales to environmental causes. And buy bus passes for their employees!
